Collaborative activities with other agencies

1. Agricultural Research Station, Hagari.

Agricultural Research station serve as a source for resource persons for conducting specialized trainings, seminars, exhibitions etc., Also involves KVK in its activities like field days, kisan melas, etc.

2. State Department of Agriculture and Horticulture.

KVK has very good collaboration with state department of Agriculture and horticulture for conduct of training programmes both on and off campus.  Also depute its field level functionaries for specialized trainings like IPM, INM, Horticulture, Animal husbandry.  Many a times the KVK takes the help of KSDA’s field level functionaries in identifying farmers for FLD’s OFTs and other purposes.  The KSDA conducts their bimonthly SMS Technical Seminars  in collaboration with KVK wherein scientists of KVK and KSDA officials conduct inter action meetings, problem solving sessions and field visits.

3. Electronic media.

Being premier institute in the district,  KVK participates in most of the infotainment, phone-in, Krishi Darshan and Kisasn Wani programmes of AIR, Doordarshan and E-TV Kannada.  The KVK also releases the periodical information on pest and disease situation for the benefit of farm families.

4. Department of Animal Husbandry:

KVK offers the help in conduction animal health camps and involve their personnel as resource persons in trainings.

5. Department of Watershed Development

KVK helps in conducting training programmes to the trainees identified and also arranges for field visits.  The KVK Hagari takes a lion share in organizing SHG’s and supporting them through feedback techniques on credit and income generation activities.

 6. Vikas Volunteer Vahini (VVV) clubs

These are farmers clubs organized by RRB Rural Banks with financial assistance from NABARD under which a new environment is created in rural areas where the banks and rural poor come together and engage in a positive dialogue to achieve overall development.  The KVK initiates inter-agency coordination for infrastructure and better technological services to farmers and plays a catalytic role in achieving all round development of villages.

7. Local bodies

Bellary Zilla Panchayat and Various Taluka Panchayats and Gram Panchayats seek KVK’s expertise in conducting trainings, seminars and supply of quality plant materials diagnostic services etc.

KVK actively participates in various activities like demonstrations, trainings, field days, field visits etc. and imparts trainings to their staff in IPM, INM, horticulture, organic farming etc.
